DETAILS

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Front Office Manager, the Reservations Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely recording and updating of hotel inventory. They are also heavily involved in revenue management for the hotel, and have a direct impact on generated revenues from guest rooms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking guest calls for room bookings, quoting rates, and taking guest information.
  • Upselling and giving added-value upgrades to inquiring guests whenever possible.
  • Directly responsible for all interactions with Online Travel Agents such as Expedia and Booking.com.
  • This includes reconciling reservations between online portals and in-house Payment Management System software.
  • Taking proper documentation and financial information for payment.
  • Adding appropriate post-booking notes, fees, taxes, and requests.
  • Transferring all relevant paperwork and information to the Front Desk for check-in and billing.
  • Directly liaises with the Front Office Manager, Hotel Manager, and General Manager to plan rate strategies through IDEAS, black-out dates, blocking rooms, etc.
  • Responsible for implementation of said strategies in tandem with the Front Office Manager.
  • Maintains and sends daily On-The-Books reports.
  • Directly responsible for the proper handling and booking of all Frequent Independent Traveller rooms.
  • This includes proper rate allocation based on contractual agreements, proper billing and routing set-up, ensuring all meal vouchers and room requirements are honoured, etc.
  • Assist the accounting and sales departments for accurate records.
  • Other duties assigned by the Front Office Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a Front Desk or Reservations position. A combination of experience with post-secondary education in Hospitality would also be considered
  • Experience with Opera PMS required.
  • Experience with Ideas G3, TravelClick, OTA’s preferred.
  • Experience managing inventory preferred.
  • Fluent in English
  • French and other language fluency is considered an asset
  • Willingness to relocate. Housing will be provided with a rent subsidy.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Attentive recordkeeping and attention to detail
  • Able to work with multiple departments with varying needs and demands

This is a full-time position with a regular working week, however some evenings, weekends, and holidays will be required as necessary for hotel operations.
