Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Food and Beverage Director to oversee all aspects of food and beverage operations, including hotel restaurants, casino lounge, catering services, banquets, and special events at Casino Dene and Hotel Dene & Conference Centre in Cold Lake, Alberta. As part of an Indigenous-owned and operated organization, this leadership role champions cultural integrity, community engagement, and exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations across all F&B outlets, ensuring service excellence and consistency.
- Foster a workplace culture of respect, teamwork, and accountability aligned with Indigenous values.
- Drive recruitment, training, and retention strategies with a strong focus on Indigenous employment and professional development.
- Manage financial planning: develop budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures while maximizing revenue.
- Collaborate with culinary leadership to design culturally relevant menus and enhance guest experiences.
- Plan and execute catered events, social functions, and corporate gatherings, ensuring cultural sensitivity and outstanding service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, clients, and community partners to grow business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor, and gaming regulations, including AGLC, AML, and other governing bodies.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing mentorship and leadership support.
- Continuously seek opportunities for service innovation, sustainability, and community involvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5–7 years of senior leadership experience in multi-outlet food & beverage operations (hotel, casino, or resort experience an asset).
- Proven track record in HR leadership, recruitment, and employee development.
- Strong understanding of financial management, cost controls, and regulatory compliance
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and scheduling software.
- Certifications in Food Safety and AGLC compliance (or willingness to complete upon hire).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- A deep respect for Indigenous values, traditions, and community engagement.
